The four-step cycle

From enrolment to action, without the register

Capture once, mark in seconds, and let Schoollog keep everyone working from the same attendance truth.

  1. Capture a fingerprint or face once during admission or staff onboarding.

  2. A student or staff member checks in at the gate, classroom, or office.

  3. Verified timestamps reach Schoollog instantly, even after an offline queue.

  4. Parents, teachers, principals, and finance receive the update they need.

What AI adds

Attendance that understands patterns, not just presence

A good biometric system is fast. Schoollog makes it intelligent enough to spot what teachers and principals need to act on next.

One photo marks a class

Computer vision compares a classroom photo with the roster, marks the class together, and flags anyone missing or unexpected.

Dips flagged early

When a student's attendance changes suddenly, Schoollog surfaces the pattern that week so staff can intervene before it becomes chronic.

Gate and class cross-check

Biometric entry and classroom camera records reconcile automatically, exposing missed scans and unexpected discrepancies.

One event, every operation

Attendance connects the rest of your school.

A verified arrival updates the student record, alerts a parent, keeps transport informed, enriches reports, and gives finance payroll-ready staff data.

Setup and launch

Live in four clear steps

Start with one gate device and add more locations as your school grows.

  1. Step 1: Enrol students and staff

Capture fingerprints and optional face data, or import compatible records from an existing system.

  2. Step 2: Place and configure devices

Connect devices by Wi-Fi or USB, assign each gate, classroom, or office, and set operating times.

  3. Step 3: Set rules and alerts

Choose marking windows, late thresholds, parent notifications, and absence escalation rules.

  4. Step 4: Train and go live

A 15-minute staff walkthrough gets the system ready for daily use, typically within three days.

How is biometric enrollment done?

Enrollment is a one-time capture. During admission or staff onboarding, a fingerprint or face record is taken at the gate device or office terminal in a few seconds. Compatible records from an existing biometric system can also be imported, so re-enrollment is not forced on schools that already have data.

How long does enrollment take per student or staff member?

A single fingerprint or face capture typically takes under five seconds per person. A whole school can be enrolled over a day or two, depending on strength, by running enrollment stations at key entry points.

What if a student cannot enroll biometrically?

Every student always has a reliable way to check in. If a fingerprint does not scan, the student falls back to face recognition, an RFID card, or manual marking. Most students scan successfully on the first try.

Can a parent opt out or request deletion of biometric data?

Yes. Parents can request permanent deletion of their child's biometric record, and staff can request the same for their own records. Schoollog removes the encrypted template on request and continues marking attendance through a non-biometric method.

Will it work with our existing biometric devices?

Yes. Schoollog can integrate with existing biometric devices through an API, so schools can upgrade gradually instead of replacing working hardware all at once.

What types of devices are supported?

Fingerprint scanners, face recognition cameras, RFID card readers, and classroom cameras are all supported. Devices connect over Wi-Fi or USB and can be assigned to gates, classrooms, or offices with their own operating times.

Are we locked into a specific brand of hardware?

No. Hardware is a one-time investment and there is no per-scan or per-device monthly charge. Schools can mix brands and add more locations as they grow, without being tied to one vendor.

Can biometric data be stolen or misused?

Biometric data is encrypted end to end, stored in secure vaults, and restricted to authorized personnel. Templates are not stored as raw images, and access is logged for audit.

Where is the data stored, and who can access it?

Encrypted templates are held in Schoollog's secure storage with role-based access. Only authorized school staff can view identifying records, and every access is recorded in an audit trail.

Do you sell or share biometric data with third parties?

No. Biometric data is used only to mark and reconcile attendance for the school. It is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing or any unrelated purpose.

Can attendance records be exported and audited?

Yes. Full history, approved leave, duplicate detection, and exportable reports keep records defensible for inspections and audits.

What happens to attendance when the internet connection drops?

Devices queue records locally and sync automatically when connectivity returns. No attendance is lost during an outage.

How long can a device keep capturing offline?

Devices store verified timestamps locally and continue marking attendance for the duration of an outage. Once the connection returns, the queue flushes to Schoollog in order, with no manual export needed.

Will offline records create duplicates when they sync later?

No. Duplicate detection reconciles offline and online scans, so the same check-in is not counted twice even if a student taps twice or records arrive out of order.

Does offline capture still send parent alerts?

Alerts are queued alongside attendance and delivered as soon as sync completes, so parents still receive arrival and absence notifications after a brief network gap.
